Yoga Shoes
One of the best items that you should gear up with are yoga shoes. Yes, there is a difference between yoga footwear and other types of shoes. For one thing, yoga shoes provide a very flexible sole. This helps you bend your feet and position them properly so that you can complete certain yoga positions. Regular street shoes are often too rigid to allow this type of flexible movement. Likewise, it would be a good idea for you to avoid wearing your yoga footwear out on the streets, as they do not provide the type of protection you need against sharp objects. They are also not intended to provide much shock absorption.
They do, however, provide just the right amount of support and structure to help protect the small bones of your feet while stressing them in different flex positions. They are also ideal for providing sufficient traction so that you don’t lose your footing and hurt yourself during more trying yoga positions. You’ll also be able to look forward to protection against bacteria that is often found on gym floors.
Other variations of yoga shoes include sandals, foot thongs and yoga socks.
